I would like to address the issue of gun control and how the absence of it affects our country. Many students today lose their lives due to peers releasing their rage upon others. Just in the past two months, 8 school shootings in the United States have been reported, killing multiple and injuring even more. The lastest 4 were Dec 8th, injuring 2, Dec 6th, killing 1, injuring 2, Nov 30th, killing 1, injuring 2, Nov 30th, killing 4, injuring 8. This MUST be stopped or our own children could be a victim of this massive problem. Not only in school, but on average 106 people die each day to a, or many bullets, 210 wounded. My proposals are: 1. Background checks. Although background checks are mandatory, sellers still don’t require them for every sale.2. Raising the age to buy guns. Many kids buy guns, then shoot up their schools and cause many deaths.3. Assault weapons ban. There are dangerous weapons that need to be banned that can cause more deaths than say a manual gun.4. Bump stock ban. Increasing the stock ban can decrease the amount of live taken by bullets.5. "Red flag" laws. Many families want to ban the permit of owning guns.6. Arming teachers. Arming teachers can result in them being prepared to act if a school shooter appeared, leaving no time for lives to be taken until the police arrive.7. Metal detectors in ALL schools. Metal detectors should be available in ALL schools, not just the rich because its less likely to have a gang member that shoots up a school rather than a rich prep kid.
